For me the earbuds are great for zoning out on a beach, riding a bus or airplane. Don't like 'em at all when riding.
My feelings exactly. I like the headsets when I'm listening to a ball game or talk radio on long stretches of interstate, but for the most part any type of headset or earbud setup makes me feel too isolated. I'd rather blast the speakers. The 09 Ultra radio really isn't that great, and with the HD XM module, it's even worse. After I get the volume past halfway, my radio just "plateaus"...doesn't get louder. If I push the volume switch, the sound gets louder for a brief instant, then "plateaus" again. I was told by the dealer that...wait for it...."they all do that". HD corporate told me the same thing. Unsatisfactory on a $22K motorcycle.

i just put in the tweeter pods from hogtunes last week, and couldn't be happier. now to decide whether to get the hogtunes speakers alone or with the amp? i know that the titan power grills is also on my list of things to do. the stock speaker grilles are very restricted to sound going through them, perhaps in the interest of keeping everything in the fairing dry??? any ideas guys?

i would say upgrade the setup..., with ear buds, you may as well throw an ipod in your pocket...
