I just bought my 01 Ultra last week. It has 105K miles on it. It runs fantastic on start up and cruises perfectly. After about 10 minutes, I pull up to a signal and the idle goes so low tht it wants to stall out. i hold the throttle a bit to bring it up to 1000 rpm until I have to take off again. Every once in a while it idle perfectly at idle when warm. The previous owner said it has been doing this for a while. A few years ago the previous owner brought it into a Harley dealer on one of his stops across country and they reset the throttle body. He said it never fixed it and has been dealing with it ever since. I am thinking of bringing it into the local harley dealer but was wondering if there is anything that I can look at or adjust on the injection to fix this. I am pretty mechanically inclined but have never played with fuel injection. Thanks.

I have a similar issue with my 00EGC fuel injected, it doesn't like to idle when cold, since Oct last year I have changed every sensor on the throttle body, every now and then once warm it will try to idle at about 500 rpm. Good luck to you, if you get her fixed let us know what it was.

 

I am having a similar problem with my 03 Ultra. Mine is throwing a code after I am at highway speeds for about five minutes but continues to run fine until I drop to idle. When I recycle the ignition switch to check it nothing is displayed. This all started when I was having issues with my speedo not displaying correctly. So I took it in and supposedly they will resolve the issue with a new speedo. I am a bit skeptical on the speedo being the problem so when I get it back on Friday I will let you know what they found.

 

Mine hasn't zipped out a code yet, and 2 weeks ago my speedo wouldn't go above 30MPH, I pulled over hit the reset button once and it went to tracking normal. Gremlins... The bike runs strong, I just wish I could the idle garbage fixed.
