Thumbs down Biketronics issue

Well, I am trying to install my new biketronics retro set-up into my 09 Electra Glide Standard. The radio works great, but the hand controls are all jacked up. The right side makes the volume go up and down and if you push it in, it goes to the ATT mode. If you push it in twice really fast, it quits playing music and shows the clock. You have to manually turn it back on. The left side: if you push up, it goes through the EQ settings, down and it goes though the am/fm modes....push it in and nothing happens.

I called them, they said maybe you have a pinched wire....nope....

Its nice to have music, but right now, I would rather have my money and my IPOD than some half-*** system.

First I have ever heard a complaint about the biketronic kits. Have you tried contacting them? I have one myself and it works perfectly. Now all I need to do is upgrade the speakers and add an amp. Anyway, I hope you can figure it out, What radio did you get? Mine is the Sony Xplod. I'm sure if it's defective product, Biketronics will make it right. They have a great reputation to uphold. Good Luck!

Did you buy direct from Biketronics? If so, I'm surprised you are unhappy with their customer service which is consistently outstanding.

What headunit did you install? And is it listed as compatible with the BT module?

Unlikely, but is it possible you plugged the bike's audio harness to the module upside down?

Oviously, something isn't right if the right hand side is controlling the volume, etc. BT has a ton of experience so I wouldn't dismiss their notion that there's a pinched wire in your handlebar harness(es).

I didn't dismiss their idea of a pinched wire...I checked the harness and removed both hand controls to ensure it wasn't pinched there either. The second time I talked to them, they said to disconnect the battery for 10 minutes. I did and still no joy. I double checked each connector while on the phone with them... I think the red module is bad, but they are now closed. I wonder how long it will take for them to send me one...

I ordered it through one of their distributors on ebay. The ebay people are down in the carolinas and it shipped from Washington...so I am guessing that it shipped from the factory. I bought the one with the sony head unit and the 5.25 speakers (it was a kit).

Here's Biketronics contacat information from their website:

http://www.biketronics.com/contact.php

They're in Idaho and when I had questions, I spoke to Mike (IIRC), the owner. If you haven't spoken to him, call. If you have, call again with latest update. They'll probably send you a new module.

If you look you will see that the speakers are hogtune not hertz.
Nothing wrong with Hogtunes speakers but biketronics do not sell Hogtune speakers.

There are a lot of fake name brand systems hitting ebay.

I have the 180 watt amp and 6.5 speakers and love the system and they were more than happy to answer any and all questions after the purchase. I first got eh 70 watt system. I called and they gave a full refund so I could upgrade to the 180 system.

Just my thoughts.

I got the Sony 630UID kit which quit after a week and a half. They replaced the radio but there were a few problems getting all made right. They were very nice to deal with but my take is they have a problem paying attention to details. The new radio is still working but I will be waiting for it to quit from now on.
