Default 2007 road king electrical mess

I recently lowered the rear on a 07 road king which shredded the wire harness under the rear fender. Now with a new harness I have no brake lights or directionals! All fuses are good.I am running out of hair to pull out. Any help would be great. Thanks guys. Tom I was flagged down by a car telling me I had no rear lights. That is how I realized there was a problem, so there is a good chance something got fried.

Test the harness continuity and function with a test light and/or ohm meter.

I have no experience with your problems, but there is a circuit board behind the tail light lens, so it may be that it was damaged electrically by your misadventure with lowering.

Hope you find your solution.

Check your ground (earth) wires
Does your bike have a Harley alarm
Have you checked your fault codes
The tsm/hsfm might have fried when the wiring shorted out
When a over current or short to ground condition is detected it will turn off the turn lamp outputs
I cant find any info on restarting the lamp outputs try pulling the main fuse with the ignition on and leave for a couple minutes this may restart your tsm/hsfm lamp outputs.
You may need to take to a dealer who has a digital technician for tsm/hsfm replacement

How did you discover the problem with the broken harness? Did you realise it whilst doing the job or did something blow when you switched the bike back on?

If you noticed it before powering the bike and rectified the problem without powering the bike then all should be fine.

There are electronics associated with the indicators, I suspect these have been damaged. This would mean the TSM (turn signal module) is damaged, although the strange thing is that the brake light does not pass through this TSM (although I am working with 08 cct so there could be a difference)

These are not easy problems, sorry
