Default 2009 burning Clothing

I have a 09 Ultra. This has stock exhaust on it with slip ons and tuned. I ride to work every chance I get in dress clothes. I have now burned through 4 pairs of dress pants from the exhaust that is located by the floor board. I am 5'9" and have road for years on Harleys and have never had this happen till the new bike.

Any suggestion would be greatly appreciated. (IE)

Do I change to different exhast that has a smaller pipe on it?

Seems the place I am burning at is where the from and rear pipes come together into 1 before the cross under. It is a bigger diameter there.

Interesting, I know that I will be dressing the same way soon to work and will have the same problem. I do wear my boots and change into my shoes at work, but I'm not sure that will help here. Are there gators made for bike riders, kind of like what is used in backpacking? Quick and easy to take off and put on.

I also ride to work each day. I wear chaps both for the protection in case of a fall and also to protect my pants. I also have a set of textile overpants that let a lot of air pass thru but I have found the chaps work fine even during the warmer months. I also leave a pair of dress shoes at work. I take my boots off and put on the shoes, remove the chaps and comb my hair and am good to go.

I have chaps too but in 90 degree plus weather in OH mid afternoon it is REALLY HOT.

I just ordered BUBS True Duals for it. This will decreese the heat and hav a smaller pipe also for it. I will recoop my money from not buying pants.

This is where the cat is located on the 09 bikes. The cat will dramatically raise the EGT's when it does its job of burning the extra HC's. Getting rid of that furnace will help a lot.

Floorboard extensions may move you away from the pipe just enough? I'd recommend harleygoodies if you choose to give that a try.

I did not thik that my bike had a cat on it because it is in OH not Cali. If this is the case then it stands to reason why it is so large there and burns shoes and clothing. MAN IS IT HOT!

Can you verify that there is indeed a cat on my bike from OH?
