Default Newbie Questions

I have questions before I can decide....

Do CD players play MP3 format?

Does bike come with intercom cables

What are differences between Classic and Ultra?

Anyone with GPS please comment on the setup?

Thanks!!!!

The Harley cd player will play mp3 disc's but not all formats. I made one today, and some of the tunes wouldn't play. They seemed to be the ones i bought on itunes. I even used the convert to mp3 option when you right click on the track, but it doesn't like them. All other mp3's that i ripped from my actual cd played fine. And to think that a few times on nice sunny days, i opted to drive the cage to work just because i wanted to listen to a specific cd on the way. Won't have that problem now. The cd's are just so limited by space, i'll have to start using my iphone and ipod on the bike and hook up to the AUX jack on the stereo.

You get one intercom cable with the bike. Another HD one is $199. There are aftermarket versions.

Are you asking about the HD GPS? You can do a lot better for $799 with aftermarket. Check out the Garmin Zumo 550 or 660. I'm running the 660 on my EGC, works great. Tom Tom also has a motorcycle friendly unit. If you are an AMA member you can get the Garmin stuff at 15% off direct from Garmin. For the 660 that puts it at $640.

Jumping from Classic to Ultra will get you...

- Intercom
- CB (and an antenna on the right rear of the tour pack to match)
- Rear speakers on stereo
- Lower fairings
- Mid Frame Air Deflectors
- Adjustable Fairing Air Deflectors
- Fitted Tour Pack & Saddle Bag liners (these stay in all the time and cover the wires and other stuff
- Premium Tour Pack & Saddle Bag liners (these are bags you put your stuff in, then put in the tour pack etc. When you get to your destination you pull them out and go. )
Tour Pack Brake/Tail lamps
- about 50 lbs extra lbs
- The world "Ultra" sprinkled about in a few places
- Owners Manual Cover
- Cruise control is standard on the Ultra
- You can legitimately use Ultra in a sentence "Just rode in on my Ultra", instead of "Just rode in on my Classic"

I'm sure I missed something. Bottom line, a lot of the stuff you can by separately. It is cheaper if you want it all to get the Ultra. If you don't care about the intercom, cb, or rear speakers, the classic may be a more economical route.

yeah, but w/ the MP3 format you can get 100+ songs on a cd....and you are right, the ones you buy on itunes can't be converted to mp3 (at least my experience).

itunes has drm (digital rights management) on it's music, so you won't be able to play it everywhere... hope this clarifies things...
