I ride a '96 Electraglide with the Evo and I love it. Very dependable. No problems yet. If you like the Beemer, Stay with it. But you would be making a mistake. Once bitten by the Hog, Always Love the Hog. And I aint talking just because everyone else has one. That isnt why I bought mine. Harley's were here first and will be here last!

Yes, I can see missing my electric windshield and 0-60 in 4.2... you mean the EVO won't do that? I do have highway pegs on the heads of the beemer but they need to be extended outward as the fairing gets in the way. Raised bars, lowered pegs and a bigger brake lever has also helped the ergonomics but at some point I realize I'm trying to make the RT into something it's not.

We'll see. Maybe the HD, maybe a Valkyrie or a dressed VTX.

Tks again,

Bob
..dont go with the vtx..had an 03 1800..hated the ride and it was top heavy..parking lots and slow speeds was terrible !!!I liked the power though! IF you get the HD ..make sure to put in a carb jet kit !!

you only live once, you might as well live it on the best, a harley of course. go for it. you'll not regret it. i've owned three beemers, and wouldn't trade my harley for anything they make, and they do make some rocket touring bikes.

I don't see it that way, you're just making the bike your own. Good luck with whatever you end up with!

My experience with H-D has been nothing short of outstanding. I've had ZERO breakdowns or failures in well over 100,000 miles on the two H-D's I've had. Quality and reliability has been excellent and my dealer experiences have all been positive.

I've never had an Evo motor but from all I've read they have an excellent reputation as a solid and reliable motor.

My dad rode one and told me the same thing - great power but lousy handling... I've heard the same of the Valkyrie.

I'm not a bike doctor so I can't comment on the engine. But Harley over BMW is easy. Go for it.
