There was a thread not long ago and a member was not happy with the stealth regarding it did not hold a bag well? Anyway i have also heard issues with the one that attaches to the backrest.53011-98,Not being strong enough.I went with the detach 2-up 53743-97 and could not be happier....I leave it on all the time and i can take pass. backrest off...because they use sep. docking points...This thing is SO strong i can lift the back of my flht to slide it over in garage..DONT TRY THIS AT HOME!!! IM A PROFESSIONAL BIKE SLIDER!!! Any way i see them on C-list or swaps for around $100.00.....Good Luck!!!! R.W.

Chumplestilkins, I'm not sure of the model #'s.... I'm in the process of
remodeling my computer room, so all my books, catalogs, and files are
packed away in boxes in the basement........

I have the 4 point docking system on my bike..........

Thanks for all the info. I'm leaning towards the detachable 2 up rack.

With most luggage racks, you have some sort of rear backrest on when "packed". With the stealth rack being low, my large t-bag sits right down on the rack and I use the straps and a spider net and secure it to the back-rest. It is very strong since it mounts right into the rear frame (replaces the stock grab bar).

For sure, if you are looking to haul something without a back-rest, the stealth is not the way to go. But when I take a trip, even one up, the backrest is used for a solid anchor point for my t-bag and sleeping bag.

For my buck, the stealth has full time looks and function.

I have the stealth rack as well. I like the style and it works good for me, but it is not detachable.

there is a picture in the harley p&a catalog, and it's the larger one. i feel it'd hold even a cooler for liquid refreshment at rallys etc. or a sleeping bag, camping gear, or a t-bag. if i keep my sg, i'll likely install that type because of its versatility.

I was just looking at the Kury site and saw a very cool rack that attaches to the grab bar that extends behind the seat on '08 and earlier models. Very nice with the typical HIGH quality Kury stuff...

I liked the looks of the stealth luggage rack and the idea of the one that attatches to the sissy bar.

I opted to pay for materials and have my Dad make one for like $20 or so.

I got the detachable RK tourpak for my RG, best of both worlds storage and a backrest for a passenger because after all you end up putting luggage on a luggage rack. I also mounted a separate luggage rack not shown in my sig pic
