Speedometer calibration?

Harley claims a 6 mile difference from a new tire to a wore out tire. I have a TTS tuner and it it has a table in it where you put in # of teeth on sprockets , mark the tire, roll the bike one tire revolution, mearsure the distance between marks and program it into ecm and is within 1 mph

I thought this might be the case when I passed the first one; after the second I've got to believe it's the bike. I never thought about pulling the Garmin out of the boat, thanks for the suggestion.
