I upgraded to the Silverstar Ultra which I ran on high beam all the time, except in traffic at night. No one ever complained (flashed me), but it was as bright as the sun. I had a buddy ride it towards me so I could see it in motion and I really liked it.
It lasted 4 months til high beam burnt out.
Just installed a MotoVision bulb. We'll see how long it lasts and if it performs like the SS.

Been running the Motovision for over a month now with no problems. If it goes quick the next stop is a GE Nighthawk.

You can get the Silverstar at Auto Zone for $19. Mine's been in the Deuce for over a year and that headlight's got a lotta shake to it

i replaced the harley davidson hi performance one a week or so ago. it seems like it's very similar to the hella 9003 bulb which i bought a pair of at advance auto parts. i got a pair so that i have a spare sitting in the shop. much better than the stock bulb. it's the 9003 part that fits your classic.

I have tried the Silverstars in my RG a couple of times now and while they are a bit brighter they seem to lack the durability that the factory bulbs had. Too bad they don't hold up on my bike , especially since the are a bit of a pain to chage on the RG. Cheers & safe ridin to ya!

Stock bulbs are 55/60W. These 85/100W Hella bulbs will provide an increase in intensity for $8 each.
Spend another $35 or so and replace the mediocre non-fluted stock headlight with these E-Code lamps (European code). They provide much improvement to not only "seeing distance" but the pattern of the light on both high- and low-beams. These lamps don't look as cool as stock and have fluted lenses, but if function is more important than cosmetics these are a winner, especially for the money spent. After upgrading to these nobody has mentioned the headlight appearance and I don't see it as a cosmetic detraction, but YMMV.

I went with Super White, Xenon Boost Super Spots. My local dealer has them. These bulbs are BRIGHT. The main headlamp bulb gives a light blue look, and my fog lamps are just bright. At night much more lighting and view of the road. Have been flashed by cagers a few times but I'm assuming they are just looking at the brighness and not there side of the road.
subscribed.. what is the avg life if the stock lights ? we have the daytime running lights here , so i have the high beam on always during the day and then switch to low beam at night.
