If you don't have the heavy breather on now, and if your A/C is still stock, you don't need to employ a tuner on your bike. The moment you do put the heavy breather on, you'll need a good tuner with a good map, and most certainly many garage burnouts for it to run correctly.

Put a set on my 2016 SG and de-catted the head pipe. Got a PC from fuel moto and it runs great. Hard to beat the full boar for the price. Mine are slash cut upwards and after 2 years I am getting a little rust where the bolt that holds the baffle is. I hit it with some WD before I winterized it and it seems fine, or at least it did not get any worse. Overall I am happy with the sound and performance of the pipes. I bought mine off JP and everything worked out well. I would certainly buy them again, if that helps.

Am I correct to assume that a 2.5" baffle is louder than a 1.75"?

Yes, the bigger the baffle the louder they get.

I put a pair of these on my Road King Classic around 2 years ago, they sound better than stock and were 1/2 the price of the usual brands. Chrome looks like its holding up fine and easy to mount. I think they were in the $200-220 price range on e-bay.

No tuner, though I will add D&K high flow air filter eventually. Installed the adjustable FL VIEDs and don't believe a tuner or dealer flash will be necessary.

I just joined this forum and just ordered some Full Boar slip on exhaust with no baffles, time to make some noise...what does 'map your engine' mean? and is this a requirement after installing straight pipes?

If you have your factory intake you should be fine with just adding the mufflers with no further mods. Mapping, to my knowledge is another word for reprogramming. If you open the exhaust and the intake, it will burn lean, with just the exhaust you should be fine. My first mufflers were full boar before I added intake and a fuel programmer and they worked fine. Oh, and welcome to the forum from up the road in Sherman.

My brother in law had the full boar with no baffles on a 2014 ultra. It was obscenely loud. Think top fuel dragster loud. I would personally the baffles unless that's the volume you are going for.
