Any info on the Full Boar mufflers Thinking of putting a set on my 2009 R/G I have the V/H turn downs on now and not crazy about them being that long The sound is good but a little too long on the bike for me If any one has them on there bike now I would like some input about the sound power gains if known ect ect. THANKS Gary
Just installed these on a 02' Road Glide. So far I love the sound! it is very throaty on the full throttle! Pretty quit at idle. Made in USA.The baffles installed looks bad aszz!!Very nice chrome finish. And less then $200! Still tuning carb and sound!had to throw that in!I'm new to this forum so I will post pics soon.
The company that makes these is down in Tn. They have been around for a long time,,, The baffles are easy to change out 1 3/4 2 and 2.5 inch glass wrapped Sound is great,,, good deep rumble... Loud but when crusing not so loud you cant think.... The core is a spiral cut similar to the high end glass packs for a car Their construction is solid and the Chrome is above board... They do their own chrome, and i viewed their plant so i would say equal or better than Vance Hines, which i have lost a lot of faith in... Not to many dealers ,, but i do know they make mufflers for 2 or 3 other company (Private branding) they wouldnt say who to protect their customer.... I saw some dyno results and they were every bit as good as V&H and Bub 7's so you make up your mind... I cant make this message rummble so all i can say is sound is good to me PS another tid bit is they make thousands of chrome tips for your car exhaust pipes, so they have a good process for the chroming..
I got a set off Ebay and they have a great deep tone and feel good on the bottom end as far as the torque by my seat of the pants dyno. I went back to the Pythons because I punched out the plug on the baffle and they sound rockin and with the plug out it gave the low end power back the Big Boars gave me.
FYI: I bought a set of the Full Boar slip-Ons for my Road King.
Installation took about 20minutes. It required a 9/16 and a 1/2 socket and the removal of the bags.
They have a low tone that comes to life around 3000 rpm. The fit and finish are the same as others I've had in the past (screaming eagle, Rush, Vance & Hines) all in all I'm pleased with the result, but to be honest I'm itching to remove the baffles to get a little more sound.
Anyone have info regarding removing baffles and how it effects the engine?
Seems like those that are running Full Boar Jones Exhuast slip ons with 2" or 2 1/2" baffles arent having any issues or having to have your bikes mapped. I put some on my efi street glide and after a 2 mile test ride and a burnout in my garage a engine light came on. I plan to get a heavy air breather and power commander tuner but assumed i could throw the pipes on and ride without mapping right away. Any thoughts?
