I bought an 09 RKC and think I want to get a set of hard bags for it. In typical HD fashion, they don't offer this color on the RK Standard, just the monotone on the Street Glide and with the pinstripe on the EGC - which means this color bag is pretty difficult to come by.

In fact, I have looked high and low (here, eBay, Craigslist, etc.) and have not seen any listed for sale. I know I can get a set of used bags and have them painted, but for matching purposes and peace of mind, I'd rather have them from the factory.

It appears that in 2010, HD has dropped this color. So, if I want to order these from a dealer, is it important to do this NOW as pewter pearl is not a color option for the new models, or does HD just paint them at the factory regardless of whether it's a "current" color? In other words, does this need to be a priority for me?

 

You should be safe for a few years. I don't know how far back they go, but it's a few years.

 

Feel your pain.Kind of went thru what you are.I ended up ordering hardbags for my 08 rkc but had to get the set that is on the 08 ultra which is the only bike w/hardbags that comes in with the same color combo as mine but a different design.The color was only available apr/may of 08.cant wait to they arrive.
I'm sure you can just order hardbags for the 09 pewter pearl sg.just have to find the part#.

 

Wonder if Chicago HD will give 20% off if ordered thru them? Did you order from your local dealer?

 

The 09 EGC that is Pewter Pearl has the same burgundy pinstripe that your FLHRC has:
LEFT SADDLE-BAG ASM: 90893-08CGW
RIGHT SADDLE-BAG ASM: 90894-08CGW

If you want the plain Pewter Pearl from the 09 FLHX:
LEFT SADDLE-BAG ASM: 90813-09CGR
RIGHT SADDLE-BAG ASM: 90828-09CGR

 

Dont know,but i ordered mine locally from an indy store and they matched zanotti's price.Dawg has made it easy and given you the part numbers.just go to zanotti's and enter them to see the price.

 

Just checked zanotti's and the bags for the 09 egc #90893-08CGW is 576.60.Man thats alot lot less than the price of my bags thru zanotti.I guess the colors do matter.My bags were 712. each.HD wanted alot more.

 

About the same at Chicago HD for the pinstriped Pewter Pearl. The plain Pewter Pearl FLHX bags were much cheaper - $456 each.

So...

Does anyone have photos of their RKC 08 or 09 in Pewter Pearl with either the SG or EGC hard bags in Pewter Pearl? I'd really like to see what they look like on the bike before making any purchase decisions.
