That's what I've been doing, it got me thinking about having the controls back there... Since my wishlist hit $10k I've changed plans, I'll keep the 'glide for low & slow touring and go shopping for a 2nd bike. Right now it's between the big VStrom, GS Adventure, and the Multistrada 1100...

Does the term "Leg Cramps" mean anything to you?
I move my feet all over the boards: feet flat in the middle, heals on the front, toes on the back.

I'd put on longer floorboards before I'd do mid controls.
I'm not a fan of Kuryakyn but I'm thinking of these:

Are those wider as well? 90% of the time, mine are on the back edge of the board, it would be nice to not have to move around to shift and brake...

If I've been in the seat for an extended period of time, I will use the passenger boards for a while just to change up positions.

Get the 1" floorboard extenders from either Soos or Harley Goodies. They both work fine, are easy to install and are great people to deal with. The 1" will get your feet out from under the shift and break levers. They are like $40 shipped I think.

I've used the Soos extenders, they tend to make a horrible grinding noise in the corners...

It took me awhile, but I figured it out "you do not want them any wider" or you would scrape the boards. I get it now. I don't know, the Kuryakyn web site doesn't give any dimensions. I saw the top boards in person on a StreetGlide the other day and they looked huge compared to stock. I never ran the guy down to ask about them. Sorry.
