Default Amsoil Oil Change Interval

To those of you using Amsoil in the motor how many miles are you going before you change it? I'm at 5000 miles since I switched to Amsoil. When I used Mobil1 VTwin I always changed it at 5000 mile interval.

5k on the motor, 10k on the trans and 3-4k on the primary. I like adding fresh oil to the primary every 3-4k because of the clutch material that is in the primary oil after riding so far.

Well, guess Im a bit **** then. change mine at 3000 miles. On the Deuce, the first time I went to Amsoil, had intentions of going the 5000 but at about 4500, started to hear some clacking in the valve train. Changed the oil and noise went away. So, might be over kill, but do the 3000. Oils not cheap but try pricing a engine job.

5k is fine.

From Amsoil's website

http://www.amsoil.com/storefront/mcv.aspx

SERVICE LIFE
Recommended for use up to twice the motorcycle manufacturer change interval (miles/hours) or one year, whichever comes first, in engines, transmissions and primary chaincases. For Big Twin Harley-Davidson transmissions only, follow the Harley-Davidson recommended drain interval for synthetic oil of up to 20,000 miles or one year, whichever comes first. When using an engine filter other than AMSOIL Ea, change the filter at standard intervals.

Can't go wrong with what dawg says. What I like about Amsoil is, you can cheat a little if your out on the road and no place to change it.

Been running Amsoil since 2004 and change it out every 5000. My 04 RK had 58,000 smiles when I traded it for my 09 Classic and it never had any probs with the motor. Not that it should've had....

I agree, but go 5k on the primary to make it easy to remember being always changed with engine oil.
