Hey Clutchglass,
What do you mean by "washboarding" with the ABS brakes? What does the bike do when this happens?
Tegsand warned me about it...and he was right, it's freaky. When you brake hard on an ABS harley the rear brake will sometimes intermittently release. This feels like you just let out on the clutch and started to take off again. There is also a clunking noise/feel. The problem is aggravated by bumps in the road. Braking hard and hitting bumps ends up giving you this go fast/hard brake/go fast/hard brake syndrome. There are recalls for a software upgrade on 08s and 09s that I know of (I downloaded the service bulletins on here). The software upgrade doesn't seem to have made any difference on my 09 Ultra, and I am taking it back for them to take another run at.

P.S. I know Tegsand has also had radio issues with his 08 Ultra.
Two years, 35,000 miles, all stock and it runs like brand new. I did have a defective battery when it was only a few months old, replaced under warranty, that was it.
The major thing you have to look out for is the young half naked groupies that will want to ride on your bike.Could result in serious or fatal damage to your marriage.
I had the fuel filter checked(it was ok) got the oil changed at 1000 miles and they replaced the back brakes, said there was a recall. Said they made noise, but I normally just use the front brakes, but no charge.
I noticed the other day that the top of the fork looked like it had oil on it, since it was dirty, but I will wait till spring to take it in...
All in all, no problems and would only trade for something special .... Would have to be a 2010 Blue/Silver Special Ed. Screaming Eagle UC.. or whatever its called... made me turn my head....
