got my money from bank this morning for a new ULTRA. but now that i am fixing to to get it all the people i know start telling me that ULTRAs are having alot of issues for repair. bad starting , cam chains failure @ 20,000 miles, & FBW probs. Can any one give some insight, or are my friends just jealous because they want instead of their 80 DG's. thanks for any opinions that are out there. It's going to be the Suede blue pearl&black W/ wire wheeels, Damn its PRETTY.

Who has 20k miles on their '08 already? Not many owners, I'm sure. The '08 has the same cam-chain configuration as the '07, and I've heard of no problems with them for either year. BTW, I have an '07 with 20k miles and have had no trouble except an LED light (high-beam) failure.
got 5000 on mine..no issues whatever..it is the best running bike i have ever owned, I will say it has recently developed a shake as i slow down...not bad but enough to be a concern but is noticable..I suspect it might be from the 96" engine being larger, my last was a 88"
Just crossing 1,000 milesand compared to my old 2006 Ultra the 2008 Ultra is a huge improvement... Only problem maybe a somewhat expected one - the gas gauge is off by 3/4 gallon (...it pegs empty and shows low reserve before the gas light even comes on)... The 06 was always accurate but from other forum posts it seems accurate gas gauges are the exception to the rule)... Otherwise it's great!

If that was true (and I doubt it) why would those failures only be for Ultras? Same engines all around for vtwins.
