Default Stripped out screw holes in RG outer fairing?

I got one maybe two screw holes in the outer fairing, where the inner fairing screws to it, that are stripped. Unlike the batwing bikes, there are no brass fittings to change.
Does anyone know how to fix this problem?

I had to use 2 larger hex head sheet metel screws on the 2 lower screw locations thanks to a dealer.
Been thinking about using Helicoils but dont know if the bosses are large enough in dia.

You could also fill the holes with expoxy and re-drill them.

Ya, I've got a square drive wood screw in one now. Obviously I'm not happy with that set up. I've thought about the epoxy, and it may work, but I'm hoping for some imput from someone that has already fixed the problem.
Good luck with yours.

You can try McMaster-Carr and order some inserts. These you can press them in and set with a soldering iron.

did u do what i did? 2 of the screws are just a "tad" longer than the other 4 and those go into the bottom holes, one per side. i did this same thing and someone brought it to my attention. once i changes the longer ones to the bottom holes, walla, they tightened up. hope this works for you too....

You're right, but that's not my problem.
