My '07 Road King has done it to me twice. Both times it cranked right back up after stopping. I went straight to the pump and filled it up and it never happens again .
Since many of these reports have involved '07's, I wonder if it isn't related to the starter torque recall. I haven't had this problem in 34k miles (knock on wood) but torqued my starter as per the new specs about a year ago.
Hi there, had the same problem with my bike it only happened once, the about 6 weeks later again on a ride, only this time it kept doing it more and more frequently. So, we trailered the bike home, after some research and absolutely no error codes, my smart partner figured it could be the master relay, located in front of the inner rear fender. We started the bike up, let it run for about 5 min. then held a heat gun to it, sure enough the bike died. When trying to remove the relay, it basically fell apart, gonna go get a new one today, hope this works, I'll let you know
I had this same problem on my '97 Ultra, and again on my '02 Ultra. Both times it was the Main Circut Braker at fault!
had the same thing on my 07 several times got check engine light but no codes, it always restarted after shutting off the ignition switch went through everything finnally replaced the speed control modual and no more problems.and yes the dealer blamed the pc b4 he even looked at the bike.
