Try some Goof Off and then reapply with a small amount of glue.

Fingeril polish remover will remove the glue.. Re-install the trim rings with clear silicone. Holds well...and is removable down the road if needed.

As far as getting super glue off, finger nail polish remover aka acetone, is what works best. Spray ether aka that spray used in the carb for hard starting motors. If the glue is on plastic then those won't work without messing up the finish. Good luck with that. I found that a clear silicone sealant works great for reattaching stuff like what your trying to do. Long cureing time very forgiving if you get it where it's not wanted. You can get small tubes at any auto parts store. Gasket silicone, clear if availble but colors will also work. Good luck.

Sorry trailfndr you said almost the same as I did, I'm just more long winded.

+3 on silicone to attatch but getting off the superglue has always turned out bad for me. Usually the finish is ruined from the glue itself and you'll probably need to buy new.

I put my trim rings on using small pieces of 3M double sided tape. They have been on several years with no problems.

Super Glue is a very bad idea. You may have success removing it from the chrome but the plastic lenses may be permanently damaged.
I installed mine when new with four small dots of clear silicone placed inside the chrome rings. This is the method suggested for reapplication after the rings are removed for gauge removal / service. It's clean, effective and the rings can always be pulled off with a pick or hook tool.
Acetone should work on the chrome. Plastic is another story. Many chemicals will do irreversible damage to plastic. Proceed with caution and use the least harmful chemicals first. Goo Gone is a good place to start. Good Luck!

The guage is ruined if u super glued it use clear silcone glue household to reattach and use goof off to clean excessive if u try to to clean the gauge lens with anything else u will cause more damage to the clear plastic...
