Default Opinions needed - Vivid Black vs Black Denim on Streetglide

I have a black 2010 SG on order and like the look of black denim, but haven't seen it on a bagger - wonder if it will just look cheap and nasty??

Is denim paint just a "fad" that HD is going through? or is it a real paint option that will be around for years to come?
Opinions please.

I bought a 2010 SG in Vivid Black last week. They had the Denim also and I admit I am not a fan of it at all, but yes I thought it lessened the look of the finish and the VB is much nicer looking.

I believe H-D has been doing the denim now for 5-6 years or longer. They seem to be expanding the models it shows up on each year, I even saw a 2010 Rocker I believe at a dealer recently so it seems it is a "style" that H-D believes in.

I do like it but not sure if I could actually pull the trigger on buying one.

Saw one at the dealer last week. When I bought mine, I knew what I wanted and got it without seeing the black denim. Now after seeing the black denim, I am very happy I got vivid black. My first though was that it wasn't finished, it looked like primer waiting for paint....just my opinion

IMO. I think shiny paint is best in the long haul for a bagger. Most of the friends we ride with don't care for the denim and I have to agree. Resale time might reflect that too. I think the denim paint might have a limited market down the road. Just my opinion.

I have a vivid black SG and i love how it looks when clean, but dust and dirst shows easy....IMHO if i had a chance to go back and do it over again i would pick the denim, seems easier to clean, and i love the way it looks

its all about opinion

I dig the Denim....easy easy to take care of...my RK was Vivid Black..never again...looks beautiful...hard to keep clean though
Denim paint is not for everyone..but I think it looks tough

If you're going to spend around 20k on a bike, you'd better buy what you like, not what we like.
