Default Painted Vented Lowers

I am considering getting some H-D lowers for my 2009 Street Glide. In the opinion of those of you who have added these to your bikes, is this mod worth the fairly steep price? Thank you, Brent.

I put them on my wife's 09 SG and my 10 SESG and yes on both. If you're a year around rider (depending on where you live) or just want to get a couple more months into the fall and start early in the spring......they're worth it. Besides the fact that they make the bike look whole. JMHO

I also don't remove mine, even in summer. Definitely worth the money, IMO, and won't cause the engine to run hotter, probably a bit cooler when rolling since they channel the air into the engine more. HD claims they will run cooler when moving but may trap air when idling, but mine has not shown any increase in heat in two summers of riding in traffic. I also have an oil cooler, which helps.

I'd say they block about 60% of the air coming up and around the tank with the vents closed. Worth the price of admission for winter riding.

In the Texas summers, I take mine off.

^^^ I'm w/everyone here. Well worth it! Extended riding season for us northerners, but the best part is your clothes/skin stay cleaner, and drier when it rains. Make sure you get the vented lowers.

I don't take mine off either. I like the major reduction in buffetting, still get plenty of air around the engine and legs with the vents open.

I love mine and never take them off. In this Texas summer heat I do remove the vents and get plenty of air. It adds about three more inches of room for more air. Then put them back on in the fall.

It's just a lot more comfy with them on. Not having to fight the wind to keep your legs on the floorboards.....and your jean legs won't vibrate in the wind either.

Save some money (about 20%) and order them from Zanotti HD. It's a pretty easy install.

Yep, I like 'em too. Haven't done much summer riding yet with them though. But probably won't take them off either. Really fills that void on the front of the bike
