Default Ultra Question

OK, here goes...
if you were going to buy a Ultra Classic, between a 2009 or a 2010....which one?
Price about same, equipment same, mileage same....etc.

Is there a difference in the cat and non-cat? is there no difference? get the one that floats your boat?

Just wondering....and looking. I have the 2010 RG but I miss my trunk from my 07 EGC....and thinking that if I add CB, trunk, lowers etc to the RG I might as well get another UC.....

keep the "cute" responses to a minium.

Thanks all

I love my 09 UC... I was a bot upset at first to learn about the cat's being installed, but I discovered that the only 09 Touring bike with cat's were Cali bikes and CVO's. I think the Cat removal is just another upgrade (to replace with TD's).

You could always put Tour Pak, Lowers, and CB unit in your RG though. I saw that done in a recent American Baggers issues... It was different

Good Luck on your decision, but if you were looking for my vote... 09 FLHTCU

I think it is what ever you can get the best deal on. No cat on the 09, cat on 2010 has a little more heat to deal with but other than that price would be my only concern.

you could add everything your talking about adding for probably under $4,000 thats probably having the dealer do it and having the large trunk quick detach and color matched etc. Thats still a far cry from 20k for another bike. But if i had the cash another bike would be nice right now to lol.

Not much difference in the 09 and 10 id look for the steal on a left over 09 alot of places that have them left are really dealing on them

Just FYI. I would be trading in the RG. Not buying another bike. That's where I'm thinking about the money difference

IMO is the Ultra but you may say I am biased,
great bike and love all it has to offer, new frame
and all that jazz. I say go for an 09 as the deal
may be out there for the taking.

The cat is the main difference from what I know. You have a cat in your '10 now though. I would look for an 09 if it were me.

'09 would be the best choice when it comes to a brand new 1 y.o. leftover on the showroom and save a bunch of $$$.

BTW, If you don't want your RG anymore...I'd be glad to take it off your hands. *wink*

Cat sucks,

If you want an UC, wait for the 11'. You will get beat up trading your RG and not trading up. Just get the tour pack for now, then trade next year. Just my 2 cents.

Personally speaking, I'd always go for the newer model for simply this; it's newer and will be worth more later on.

I'd only go with the 2009 if the dealer was giving a huge discount, but since you said the prices were the same, then go with the 10.
