I would go with the 09 over the 10 due to the Cat. You could remove the cat, but I believe a lot of areas, if not the whole USA, are going to start enforcing emissions laws and at least you don't have that to deal with on the 09. But, I would have bought a 10 Limited if they did not want $2500 over MSRP when they first came out. Love my 09 and would not trade it for a 10.

The cat isn't nearly as big a deal as people are making it out to be.

But if it were me, I'd keep the Road Glide and add lowers and a tour pack. That'll run you around 2 grand, and you'll have a great bike.

Unless you have already checked, you are going to be really disappointed with what they offer for your trade-in. You already have a great looking bike. I would just do a quick mount tour pack and fairing lowers. I'm partial to the Ultra Classic because of the sound system, CB and Batwing fairing.

Default Keep Your RG!!!

In today's economy, you're going to take a bath whether you trade in your RG or try to sell it outright on your own.

I'd keep the RG and buy a color matched, HD, quick disconnect tour pak since you say that's what you miss from your UC. Then ride it for awhile before making a decision on whether you need to add the CB or lowers.

Taking into consideration as soon as you left the dealer on your RG you lost about 25% in depreciation and the dealer needs to make at least 2K on your trade at resale, you can figure out what the trade value is roughly. Some guys have very good relations with their dealers and their dealers will give them slightly more on a trade, but it's rare.

If both bikes are as equal as you say, then the better deal would be on the 2010, just due to depreciation levels. The better question to ask would be what makes you happy. Both bikes as well as your RG will take you where you want to go, hold some value to you and still be admired by onlookers, but it's really what makes you happy. Good luck in your decision.

cant believe nobody brought up the fact that in 09 (while harley was producing 2010)they were laying off and moving lots of people to different areas, this would have me a bit concerned with the level of quality on the 2010"s.

I would go with the 2010 you can tune it to compensate for the cats. (does not effect performance its just the heat) One thing i notice about the 2010 is they changed the 5th gear in the transmission, the annoying whining is gone. Also the first model year if anything is usually not the best. HD has gotten some good feedback from consumers and professional road and track test companies to make a more improved ride for 2010, they wont tell us about all the changes.

Dude, you will get crushed on the trade. Unless $$ is not an issue, I would add what parts and pieces you want to that very nice Road Glide and build something unique. This comming from someone that rides an Ultra.
