Default finding the right mufflers

Been looking into new mufflers, what I have is too loud for me now,(Screamin Eagle not for street use),I have V&H tru-dual pipes,SE Air-Cleaner with MOCO re-map.. I'm looking for something not too loud yet not too quiet, want to hear the stereo better than I do now.I was looking into Jackpots but there web site says they're designed for stock pipes(extensive testing has shown obvious shortcomings of the aftermarket true dual systems) I just don't want to spend a lot of money right now, concidering used sets or maybe wild pigs ,rush. Any Ideas for the right pipes with the tru-dual set up.Any suggestions would be great Thanks

I have a set of s/e mufflers (80721-09 street legal and s/e breather kit with remapping) on my 09 egc and the sound is deeper but not too much louder than stock. I have to agree with n8dc, the Rush mufflers are louder.

Go on You Tube and search mufflers for HD. There are many different videos out there covering a wide variety of pipes. Wait a couple of weeks for bike week, then just listen to other bikes. Might be the best way to get a good sampling of sounds.

The pipes are in excellent shape(i can get pictures later today), they are about a year old,The reason i have 2 set of baffles is because i thought the 1.75 was too quiet and the 2.25 is jut right. the 2.25 will bark if you really get on it but crusing the mello out enough to still hear the radio really good with no mods done to the radio. i also have new baffle materal that goes with them(It came with the pipe by accedent).

Good luck in your quest for that perfect sound. It's almost as hard as finding that perfect windshield.

Is the Screaming Eagle pipes you have now have a 2" inlet? If so, can you do me a favor and see if yours has a part number stamped on it? Looking for a spare set to install when I tour. 2000 miles of Rinehart True Duals is a beating on the ears.

If you do a search you will see many post about V&H Monster Ovals. They are a little louder than stock. I have some for sale in the classifieds section.

HamsGlide,
I'm quite sure they are 1 3/4" inlet on 2006 TC88. I looked at the pipes but couldn't measure but I'm sure there not 2"..I just got out of the hospital a couple of days ago, total knee replacement,so I can only get around with a walker for now,

flhrbill, good idea on the bike week thing but cant do it this year even though I'm only 1 hour away. I've been concidering the S/E street performance I'm just not sure what will work good with the tru-dual head pipes

Here's wishing you a speedy recovery on them knees.

Well, I stuffed some of the Silent Sport packing in my Rineharts just now and I fired her up to see if they softened up. Without riding it and firing it up between buildings, they seemed louder! Gonna go for a test putt putt and I'll report back.

Do the SE pipes you have have packing in them? If so, maybe you can just repack them. Just trying out the cheapest avenues first before pulling the trigger on 2-300 pipes.
