planning on ordering 14'' wild1's for my 11 streetglide in cpl weeks i love the look of them but nobody runs apes around here so cant try them. my concern is the amount of pullback, im 6' 3'' w/ really long arms i am running badlander seat, also i dont want to lose my 6.5'' clockwerks flare windshield, anybody have input on what to run? i dont want 13'' cycle smiths i was able to sit on a bike with the and they not quite tall enough

17" flying apes in Deluxe
16" cycle smiths on Ultra
The wild 1s and flying apes are maybe 1" above my shoulders. The cycle smiths are around 1" below my shoulders. I am 6'. SJ Ron

 

12.5" has been perfect for riding comfort.

 

Ok guys I have a 2003 wide glide that has stock 10 inch apes and I'm 6"6 and I'm thinking about putting taller apes on. I like Wild 1 outlawz. I don't want to be to high and get messed with by the cops so I was thinking 12s or maybe 14s. So guys what do you think?

 

Rule of thumb for apes are they have to be no higher than shoulder height while seated on the bike to be legal. So take measurements while sitting on the bike and see what height is shoulder height for you. I am 5"10 and 14" apes are right at shoulder height for me. So I am thinking at your height 14" would be like the stock mini apes to me that came on my Street Bob. I would honestly go 16" for your height.
