Default Did i get the right size apes?

Hello i recently got the chubby 12.5 apes put on my roadking. At first i thought they looked great and was a perfect height, but after seeing other bikes with 16 and 18's i'm thinking maybe i should have went with 16's. I'm 6'3 about 230lbs.Is there laws though that limit your hieghts? Also would the higher apes interfere with my windshield? Thanks for your input

I have 18". Yes, you have to pull the bars in line with the forks in order to have the shield on. Not bad, just changes your riding position. I rarley have the shield on in the summer, just for cold weather. I am 6'1", and with the stock seat, my hands were right at my shoulders. Reading laws in various states, most are fine so long as your hands are not over you shoulders. Depends on where you ride. Here in NM, there is no limit, but in Sturgis, anything over the shoulder will get you a ticket. I just put a police solo seat on my bike. It raised my sitting position a couple of inches. Now the bars are just below my shoulder, when sitting straight up. I ride kind of slumped over, and they are now even with the shoulders, whereas before, I had to sit straight to be legal in some states.

I think the 12.5" look and feel great. Anything higher look great, but just don't feel right.
