Ideas - Bike Night?
Where bouts in TN. I'm in Hendersonville, TN just north of Nashville. In Louisiana where I'm from they had thursday night steak nights. Bought steaks wholesale from local meat company, grilled them on a big grill had salad and camp potatoes with lots of butter (backed potatoes smashed up skin and all) It was VERY popular. Served beer and softdrinks. They were a bar/tavern called Coyotes in Shreveport, LA. I hardly ever missed steaknight. Call ahead for steak reservations (got your name on the list so you can get a headcount for how many steaks you need) and pay at the door 10.00 bucks gets you a steak and trimmings. Good deal, beer sales were good over by 9:00pm. Just an idea. Good luck, let me know whee you are, if close I'll play. RW
Thanks for all the input, keep it coming.
We're located in Northwest TN. Looking at lists of Bike nights it seems that Tues, Thur, and Fridays are the most popular nights to hold bike nights.
Do you think it's worth doing a bike show with trophies? Maybe a 50/50 drawing?

Outdoor "viewing" area...everyone want to watch their own bike and also see what everyone else rides in on..
beer /drink specials, maybe live music, make sure the volume isn't overpowering, some free finger food....
You might forget the 50/50...
just have 50.00 bucks for the best bike.
usually this is done by crowd noise not a bunch of Judges.
maybe 25.00 bucks for the bike that came the most distance

The biggest thing is that you need a "hook". Something that is really gonna make them wanna come, tell their friends and keep 'em coming back. The quickest way to get a mans attention is cheap but good eats. Bike nights are usually around quitting time so everyone is going to be hungry. All you can eat wings for a set price, cheap but good burgers, etc. That will get their attention. Once it starts getting bigger word will spread and it will just keep happening. And like was said an outside area is a must. Who wants to be cooped up inside after working all day.

Just want to say thanks for all the suggestions! I'm planning a bike night for my dad's bar in little Marathon, IA....Ike's Job Site! There isn't one for miles (which is odd to me) and tons of bikers around here! I use to live in KC and go 4 times/wk and need my bike fix, so volunteered to plan it. Wish us luck!!

GOOD Band, hot rods and bikes (all makes), eat and drink deals and good parking so people can watch the bikes and cars come in and walk around to look at them...the rest will take care of itself.
We have a bike night that the local country radio station broadcasts from every Thursday night - the place is always jammed packed and even non-riders show up for the party which is always a good time.
