I thought the same thing until I got to ride behind my own bike. In my bike club I am not the last bike.

I had the 2 to 1 on my bike and they sounded the same after about 5000 miles as they did at the start. (LOUD) There is no packing on the baffle, so nothing to burn out.

Well...

That's not entirely true. There is a 1/4" thick ring of packing about 8" long IIRC around the baffle section. Yeah, it wears out after a while, but the pipe is so darn loud anyway that it's hard to tell.

If you want it loud, bump your compression and run some good cams. That's how you get a Thunderheader to really crack!

Had one on my '04, and have one on my current bike.

I have heard this too: I was going to go with a big bore kit with my Andrews 37G and with a little machine ( to bump the CR to about 9:1) work and a .0030 head gasket I was told the Thunder Header would really bark.

Yes, I had a 2 into 1 on my '91 FL and I burned it out after about 100,000 miles so I guess that's acceptable. But it did get slightly louder over time until it burned out.... I'm getting a black 2 into 1 for this '09 EGS....

They make horse power!
