Before you take it back, try this; pump it up to just shy of your desired pressure, bleed it down a few pounds, and then bring it up to pressure.
If that doesn't work, take it back.

I have had this one for years, and I hardly lose any air on disconnect.

Sorry to keep ressurrecting this thread, but I pump my shocks on my 2007 FLHX up to about 10psi (per the manual since I'm a fatty). The gauge sticks at 10 as long as the hose is connected. When I go to disconnect the hose the gauge goes to 0.

Is this a bad pump or does the gauge normally go to 0 when disconnecting?

so how often does one check air in the rear shocks? Do these bleed off? Can you check with standard tire pressure gauge or does the HD pump have a gauge in it?

I do not have a pump as of yet, dealer checked shock pressure this Spring when i got it out of their Winter storage.

when you disconnect the hose, you are no longer monitoring any air pressure. yes, this is normal.

I thought for 49 bucks it is very high quality, made much better than my son's little plastic pump for his high end bicycle and only 9 bucks more. I lose 0 psi when disconnecting. If I did lose anything, of course my dealer would replace it.
