Default Can someone explain?

Picked up a 18" 2010 hd streetglide front mag for my 2006 sg - want to put dunlop elite 3 on front & rear - what is the difference between the mr90-18 & the 130/70-18 also thinking about the 160/80b16 for the rear (supposedly will fit) but if i decide not to go with the wide tire what is the difference between the mt90b16 and the mu90b16? I have read dunlop, and several other tire distributer websites and dammed if i can find the answers. - thanks for any info

Dunlop website has the mt90b16 listed for both front & rear, but the mu90b16 is only listed for rear?

An MT is nominally 130/90 and an MU is 140/90, possibly 140/85, depending on brand. It is slightly wider and has a higher load rating. If you ride two up a lot an MU is a wise choice. With your 06 bike you could also consider a 150/80, which is also available as an MU.

An MR has a lower load rating than an MT. I wouldn't use one!

The best source of this sort of info I have found is Avon's website. I also prefer and use their tyres!

A pleasure! I can only offer what Avon says on their website about the 2010 FLHX, which is:

Cobra
Pressure front:
2.6 bar (38psi)
Front size:
130/70B18 63H

Cobra
Pressure rear:
3.0 bar (44psi)
Rear size:
180/65B16 81H

I think those sizes have only just been released by them, so may be scarce at present. They don't give them 'M' sizes.
