Wind gusts 55-60 mph not uncommon here in Wyoming, just learn to live with it.Biggest fear for me's having an empty trailer or RV blow over on top of me.

........ yessir, you want to get around those guys as quickly as possible when the big wind's gusting.
.... and i sometimes wonder if the cagers behind us are thinkin' the same thing when they see us leaning the bike one way or the other to compensate for the cross winds.

"Gusty winds will whip across the southern Plains today, but it is in the vicinity of New Mexico where winds threaten to cause damage and endanger motorists. Today's winds will gust between 60 and 70 mph throughout New Mexico and surrounding areas. The afternoon and evening is when the highest wind gusts will be measured." AccuWeather.com

Nope didn't ride today, don't like the feeling even in a cage with that strong of a breeze!

Ridin' in the wind freakin SUCKS! I'd rather ride in the rain. At least then I'm in full control of where I go! We just rode back from OBX Bike Week last weekend and the gusts were blowing us all over the road. When you're on a single lane (each way) bridge with a wall on one side and oncoming traffic on the other, and gusts are blowing you 3-4 feet in each direction....there is a serious pucker factor involved!

50 mph gusts here in Colorado yesterday. Still a good day to ride, but the wind did make things exciting at times.

A thrilling experience, to be sure.
Same thing happened there yesterday. Gusts to 73 MPH, they closed I-40 from Flagstaff east to Winslow for several hours.

I'm with him! And why does it always seem to be a crosswind? Done it a few times and learned to wear ear plugs. Made the trip from Fort Riley, Kansas to Kansas City several times in the 80's and do not remember a nice calm breeze.

Nope, always windy in the flint hills and it'll come at you from one side, pass a hill, then BAM, come at you from the other side without warning. LOTS of fun!
