Default All you horn experts

I have an HD "Premium" Air Horn that for some reason decided it doesn't want to work anymore. Fuse is fine and I can hear the relay click when I press the horn button, but that is the only noise you hear. Not sure what the issue is and am open to suggestions...

However other than being told that the HD is a piece of junk...which I agree with, if I buy a mini-beast, can I use the existing wiring and relay, in essence can I put the mini-beast on without pulling the existing wiring or am I going to have pull the HD wiring and put in the new one?

Thanks

I believe it will work as long as there's a functioning relay in the switch circuit.

Default It will work just fine

I did the exact same thing. My stabel horn quit working
after about 1 year also. I bought it at an event.
I was able to contact the seller and he exchanged it
no questions asked.

SlowRain, have you replaced the horn or figured out a way to fix it. I am having the same problem. Got caught in about 6 hours of rain last month. next day horn was not working. i have taken all of the connections on and off, no help. Got a new relay, no help, fuse is not blown. I really like the horn despite some of the other reviews and would like to get it working again, without dropping a ton of cash. any help from anyone would be appreciated.

Trust me, it's the relay. I had the same problem. After replacing the horn I found out the relay was bad.

If you do end up having to replace the horn...

I went with a Stebel mini Nautilus. Sounds great and for $40., you don't feel bad if you do ever have to replace it.

The relay would be my first guess. If you hear it clicking when you depress the horn button, is only half of what goes on in the relay. The clicking is the control half, that closes the power contacts (the other half). If you have a VOM, or a test light, you can check the relay. If you have 12 volt dc output from the relay, then you may have a bad compressor motor. Good Luck.

Hey Bikes: With that many posts I'm guessing this question regarding your sig has been asked but here goes anyway. How exactly did you reverse the image of your Ultra? Air cleaner, pipes and tranny cover on the left side. I don't think so!!
