Cool True duels

I have the 03 RKC. I am tossing around the idea of changing the exhaust to a true duel system. I think I've read here somewhere of tweaks that have to be done to the engine or air to accomplish this. So what other hoops would I have to jump through to get this done right?

To see any gains you would need to upgrade your air filter and with that you would need to remap the air fuel mixture. Fuel pak, Power commander, sert etc... best advise is to contact jamie from moto, will pre load maps for your set up. If your just doing the pipes you may get away with just the pipes on some makes but I wouldn't do it. I'm sure others will chime in and let you know if you can get away with just pipes. The full set up is called a stage one. Hope this helps.

Just in case you have not thought about it, H-D doesn't put all that crossover hardware on all their bikes for the fun of it. True duals will reduce the HP output of the engine if no other changes are made. H-D has known this 1977 when they put the Simese exaust on the cafe racer and noted a significant HP increase as a result. All H-D bikes have had crossover exhausts since 1979. Sometimes the crossover is disguised in the mounting brackets, but it is there.

I must be one lucky guy as I have had true duals on several bikes with out any of the negatives repeated thousands of times on numerous forums about true duals.

Easy to say. Much more difficult to measure.
