questions for memphis shades batwing owners
I just ordered a memphis shades batwing to put on my roadking classic. Thinking of having it painted to match my bike, anyone have thiers painted and how is the paint holding up?? Did you paint just the outside or inside too???
Which windshield trim looks better, the regular or slim model I am leaning towards the slotted slim.
Anyone have the windshield 3 pouch accesory? What is the quality of this, is it nice or cheap looking vinyl?
Any pictures of painted to match would be great.
thanks

Memphis Shades
I had the same fairing on an 03 Fatboy and it was very nice. I did not have it painted because the bike was black and the fairing matched well. I also liked the slotted stainless windshield trim and it looked great. I did have the 3 bag pouch which was of good quality and much more useful than the one I now have on a 2010 Triglide that came from Harley. You can actually store more than a pack of cigs in the Memphis 3 bagger.
I would suggest considering the extra air deflectors for the Memphis fairing. They pretty much stop wind buffeting which comes up from under the leading side edges of the fairing.
Mounting the Memphis is easy and quick.

Had my M/S batwing painted to match the bike
My sig picture will show you what it looks like. I only painted the outside and installed my own leather pouch. Damn paint cost more than the fairing. HD wouldn't provide paint code so I had to have the paint guy match as best he could. Did a really nice job.

Hi,
Here's a pic of the slotted windshield trim.
I didn't have to paint as I kept the black.
Had mine now for about 18 months and have never since taken it off !
I hear that Klokwerks do a curved shield for them now to stop wind buffeting but also heard they are not too good for $160 - anyone heard otherwise ?
