Do you carry gas

I keep and MSR bottle of gas in my left saddlebag. It has saved the day 5 times now. Gladly never myself needing the saving. Never had an issue, bottle stays cool in my bag, I give it a shake before pouring into tank, and I change the gas in it every couple of months or so. Holds 30oz.

I carry an extra 30 oz of premium in an MSR Fuel Bottle. Also hav a 20 oz version. Never needed it myself but have helped others out on more than one occasion. I figure it's good for an extra 10 miles.
Another solution to ease your concerns might be to carry a small manual siphon pump and some octane booster.

I've been is some of the most desolate places you can find in the states over many years. I've ridden every state except Hawaii. The only time I carried fuel was my trip to Alaska. I came close to needing it only once and that was in the Northern Territory of Canada above the Yukon. I have never had a problem in any of the states, including Alaska. Use some common sense, if you think it's going to get desolate, stop and top off. In Alaska I made it a point to look for fuel whenever I hit about half a tank. Save the room for something else.
