Yep....for the cost, it'd be worth a try. I have the 12" on now...had an 8" Clearview which was great as far as view, but the 1st rain storm ruined that. I also had the 9 1/2" HD light tint...which was like looking thru the bifocal line on my glasses.
Robin told me they'd cut whatever I wanted....so maybe an 8" or 8 1/2", and stay with the bronze tint....I like that look. Time to get the old measurin stick out
After waiting and waiting I finally went with the 8" Gun Smoke Windvest with the recurve.
Was going to with KW but through no fault of their own they have been on back order for quite sometime now and no real date for future delivery.
Way better than stock 12" I had on. Limited buffeting @ 70+, can hear the stereo @ 1/2 the volume I ran prior. No buffeting 50 and slower. 01' EG, 5' 11", Mustang touring sofa. Haven't tried it with the OL on back yet.
Not a thing wrong with my 10" dark smoked shield I bought
from an Ebay dealer.......
I wear contact lenses, and can ride w/out eye protection up to
45 or 50 w/out any problems.
This was the first shield I tried after removing the stocker....
I just put on a 8" fastaire freedom shield and it is better than the plain 10" shield I had on before. Didn't tell her I did and asked her how it was and she said it was even better for her. I can see just over the top of it now instead of through. For a called in order it was only $87.50 delivered. Ordered Friday morning and got it Monday afternoon. I'm 5'6" and she is 5'2". Both wear glasses.
I've got a couple hundred miles on my new Long Ride 6" classic windshield. It has a slight recurve and I got it with the dark tint. I'm 5'-9" tall and I am able to look well over the top. The quality is very good and it really looks great but over 45 mph the buffeting begins. The full force of the wind does go over my helmet but there is slight buffeting especially around my ears. I'm fairly satisfied overall considering it is a short windshield. Let's face it, it's not going to stop the wind like a tall one. Hope this helps you or any one else who's looking for a shield.
Ditto bogidiver's assessment on the Freedom Shields....I have the 7 inch curved dark tint, and 7 inch curved smoke tint......very high quality with no distortion. I'm 5'11" and these work perfect for me on my 2010 Ultra. I can easily see over the windshield and it pushes the wind over my helmet and no buffeting. Glasses stay in place at all speeds
