Default Fuel Gaugs

Fuel gauge quit working on FLHX. Had moisture in it, quit working then started working again. Now it has quit for good. Do you guys think it is fuel gauge or sending unit?

Does the gas warning light still come on when the tank gets low? Have you removed the gauge to see if the wires are fastened properly?

Twice now I had to take my fairing off pull the plug from the back of the fuel gauge and put some petruleum jelly on the contacts put it back together and works fine. I dont think the contacts are tight enough on mine.
