fuel gauge?

what year make and model I had an '05 fxst the same thing happened it was fuel injected i pulled the gauge out and found that there was a wire that came undone. Soldierd it back together and it worked fine again. it was a little orange wire if im not mistaken i dont have the bike anymore and it was about 3 years ago when it happened. This will be on the sending unit itself not at the visible gauge on top of the tank. The sending unit is nothing more then a Rheostat they too can wear out. Good luck to you!
