Cool You got to be kidding

The original post was almost 3 pages long on how to take off a brake pedal pad. Now,its been dug up again.Instead of informing members how to take one off,why not how to install one even though you might have the directions.

That's Funny, I came in from work about 2 o'clock in the morning didn't feel like sleeping so I figure what wouldn't be a hard job putting a pedal on,and would only take me a couple of minutes, and then this son of B---h would not come the F--k off,So,I was ready for the hammer, blowtorch etc myself. So after I compose myself I figured I got too much invested into this s--t to destroy my bike over this f--ker good luck and safe riding, always remember they don't see you and they don't even f--king hear you!!!

Love older posts for the reference info for my 07 FLHTC. I was having the same issues. Removed my pedal to replace with the SoftBrake 2+2, called all the local stealerships and no one had part 42416-06 in stock.
I ran the hot water in the sink for a few min while i poured dish soap down in between the pad and the metal pedal. Submerged the whole assembly in HOT water and let it sit long enough to watch an episode of Stranger Things. Came back to the sink and pried with a knife down between cleaning out debris and loosening the rubber. A little muscle and prying and the damn thing came off. Ill install on the SoftBrake tomorrow.

It was easy, peel the top back a little and shoot some WD40 into it with a straw of course. Then instead of pulling straight off, try twisting it some like it screwed on (twisting towards and away from the front of the bike). After several barely partial turns it will pull right off intact. Took me all of 5 minutes.

So, 2018 Softail Brake Pedal. A lil lube, and 2 flat blade screwdrivers, one top, one bottom. And it pops right off.
I wish this pic was up before I had to Figger-it-out
