You might consider Kawasaki's big 2000cc Tourer. Kind of on the order of a Road King, but with a lot more Poop! My Sig says how I feel about HD's, but it doesn't bother me a bit if anyone else wants to ride another brand. Have at it, and enjoy the ride.
Not to change the subject but MT. is one of the best places the wife and I have ever ridden and we've ridden just about everywhere. BTW, thanks for an intelligent response. I like HD bikes. They just don't make me feel superior to anyone riding something else. I'm likely to end up with the new CVO Streetglide. I just want to have a choice.

I love watching those guys on Beamers go by. They are always in full touring mode. I consider myself a serious tourer but I can't get all dressed up like they do. I would consider a Gold Wing (Hope I'm not banned from the forum for using that name) but my wife says it looks like a space ship and she refuses to ride on one.

I have a BMW and a harley. I don't get "dressed up" to ride either of them and I don't own a stitch of clothing that says BMW or harley. Don't let that stop you from getting what you want.

LMAO...Sounds as if your wife is the real Harley person in the family.
I was looking at the Stratoliner Midnight. It is a tourer. 4.5 gallons. Which bike are you referring to that has a 6 gallon tank?

Check out the Yamaha Royal Star Venture. Comes with CB, intercom, AM/FM radio, water cooled, six gal tank, v4 that has alot of top end power, easy to make in to a solo ride. The down side is lack of gages in the dash, it still had a cassette player, and can feel top heavy til you get to know the bike. You can find a new one for around $15,000. Used one's with low miles can be picked up for about $11,000.
I had on before I got my Ultra. It was a smooooth ride, but did not handle as well as the Ultra.

I had one of the 2053 cc vulcans. Really a big nice bike. Like my HDs better but it was very nice.
