Default passenger backrest after tourpack removal?

got the quick disconect hardware comeing to make my tourpack removable on my '06 ultra. After the tourpack is removed is there a sissybar/backrest that will mount on same mount points as the tourpack? What about a luggage rack/passenger backrest combo? I suspect that both may be doable by just getting the right parts but the MOCO doesn't seem to make it very easy to figure out just which pieces fit together very easily, at least that I have found.

here are the pieces that I have on the way to make things removable:
53276-04 (1) $ 133.42 detachable tour pack mount
53804-06 (1) $ 43.12 docking hardware kit
53385-00 (1) $ 41.56 laydown liscense mount

Yes... the same docking station that woks with your tourpak works with backrest & luggage rack. Actually, seems like there is one more docking component required for the backrest ~ the rack uses that same tabs as the tourpak....

You need the sissy bar upright docking kit in addition to the tour-pak docking kit. This is part no 53803-06. It is best to install both at the same time since they they share the fender mounting support attachment.

One thing to note. When you remove your tourpack you will need to go to the dealer and have them reflash your radio as it will be looking for the rear speakers. Mine is an 02 so don't have this problem but I'm good at regurgitating information I've heard. I don't know what this involves or costs but it is something you should check into before you go spending more money. Oh yeah and it will need to be reflashed when you hook them back up too!

I had heard you had to have radio reflashed AND I had heard you didn't... I never bothered to find out for sure cause I was a ways off from gettin 'r' done. Your post reminded of that pointswhat so let me regurgitate the fact (as I have just determined them to be) on the HK radio... you dont have to have anything reflashed. I just pulled my seat pulled the wires from the speaker pods, unplugged them, turned on the radio and enjoyed some Zeppelin on my front speakers just fine.

No you do not have to have the radio reflash. I have had mine off and back on several times ( and I have a 06 utra ) it works fine. I did ask the dealer about it and yes if they hooked up to your bike they can tell that the radio back speakers were unpluged. But they said that was all and it does not matter. When my pack is off I do turn the fader all the way to the front just to play it safe.

Cool, everyone I had heard from before said that the radio wouldn't work with out them. I guess they were just regurgitating what they had heard as well! [sm=owned.gif] Glad to hear that some one actually has proof!
