Note: it is not dark...still need sunglasses if sun is direct but does cut down the brightness.
Have not seen a darker interior slide down shield.

As I explained in a previous post, I have owned both. The Shoei didn't fit my head very well so I sold it after just a few rides. I now own and use the HJC Sy-max II. NO WAY the HJC is quieter than the Shoei. It's a decent lid for the $$ but it isn't up to snuff with the Multitec's overall quality (the price reflects that too.) Wish I could have kept the Shoei but it just didn't fit my head.

I bought the KBC FFR Modular which is supposed to be the same manufacturer for the Harley helmets, reasonably priced and this one fit well on my melon. Has the front and top vent which helps with the air ventilation, has good room for a mic

HJC fits me great. Only wear it in very cold or inclement weather.

Last Helmet was a Nolan 102 which was great, then I tried the Multitec much more comfort and lighter and the ease of wearing shades, you can feel the quality difference. The Multitech also seems to have a wider field of view when locked down.

Nice thing about the Nolan is the removable liner for washing, as I have speakers/mic fitted totally submersing the Shoe is out of the question, so just resort to Odour Killing sprays for the time being - May give her a strip down come the wintertime.
