Default Engine Pinging, Timing...

Took the (new to me) '07 Road Glide in for the 10k service today, and asked if they could adjust the timing. Service writer said they can't adjust, but would be willing to sell me a SE airfilter and a download and some dyno time. I'm not opposed to doing that (or more) when I have the cash. I find it hard to believe that they can't make any adjustment in the interim.

I have an 07 Ultra. I have a PC III on it,and worked out the issues that way. To try and answer your question, I remember getting a notice to have a torque smoothing download flashed by the dealer. That was supposed to help the pinging some 07's in stock trim had. There may be others that Harley has. Ask your dealer about that, and see if your ECM has the update.

A harley download? and some dyno time???

Sounds like he's trying to slip it to you. The dyno wouldn't be necessary with a harley download other than fattening up their pockets because there is nothing they can adjust unless they add a tuner.

Skip the download and add some fuel with a tuner of your choice, do the stage 1 intake yourself and save some cash. It's all that's needed.
