Street Bob vs. SG or RK / Around Town but Also Long Distance
#11
I owned a RK and loved it, runnin around town or on the highway. Only got rid of it due to the fuel injection being new to Harley that yr and mine had its fair share of issues. I traded my EGC for the new framed 09 SG and have to say I am more than satisfied and love the extra protection from the batwing fairing and already lowered. If I was looking at the RK over again I'd opt for a Heritage Classic.

I really like my 10RK that new frame on those FLH's sure handles a lot better and you gotta love that 180 fatso on their rear

This thread is 8 years old, but I'll comment anyway..........I rode dynas most of my life. I traded for a Street Glide and would never go back now. You'll soon, very soon, get used to the weight of the bike. It handles well, and as someone said, who cares if you're going cross country or across town. Comfort is comfort. And the bags, fairing, and radio are things you'll soon learn to love. I have a couple friends who still own dynas, and riding them now, they just feel so small. JMHO.

I've had a 2009 Softail Standard, 2002 Sportster Custom XL1200C, a 2018 Street Bob, and now a 2019 RKS. The RKS is by far the most comfortable (of course) bike i have ever ridden. Not to mention how agile it is. I'd would ride the RKS around town instead of the other bikes any day. You can't feel the weight when you are riding it, and it maneuvers like a much smaller bike. Not to mention the power.
