friend has a Harley cover (XL) for baggers and it has a slit across the back (it opens/closes with velcro) and the antenna(s) can poke through it. Not 100% watertight doing it that way, but it doesn't stress the antenna by bending it. Works well on her RG.
I bought one of those $20 covers at Wal-Mart. Poked a couple of holes in it for the antennas. Cut me a couple of little squares of "iron-on" blue jean patches and ironed them on from the inside of the cover. I put it on starting at the rear and just stick the antennas thru the holes. Works great!
I just let the antennas bend forward. They are spring mounted, ya know? I don't use the cover very often so I don't worry about it much. I guess it could cause problems if you use it often enough and/are long enough.
I used to let the antennae bend forward but found that they tended to stay that way when I removed the cover. I have the HD cover with the split at the rear but usually just remove the antennae before putting on the cover.
Anywhere to get a cover for my Ultra Limited that will work with the tour pak antennas left in place?
I have an Exigent bike cover without holes for the antennas. I marked the location of the 2 antennas and took the cover to a shoe repair shop. He punched 2 holes in it and installed 2 grommets for $10. Problem solved. By the way I have the HD shorty antennas, not the long ones.
I use the Exigent cover for winter storage also. I just remove the antenna when in storage. On the road, I have one of those H-D 'Seat Covers'. The antenna doesn't interfere with it.
