Default DIY Stage 1

I was curious if anyone ever did their own stage 1 kit upgrade. To avoid any confusion a stage 1 would be a new a/c, slip ons, and a tuner.

If you did it how much was involved. I am not new to a tool, but also not Mr Good Wrench either.

Hey Bugspit welcome to the Forum and yes most people do the stage 1 themselves. I for one did it all myself--it really is fairly easy to do depending on the tuner you use it can be easy or a bit more challenging. The Vance & Hines FuelPak is very easy and straight forward to install as is the DynoJet PowerCommander. The HD sert or sest along with the TTS mastertune is a bit more involved.

Not brain surgery. Did it myself also. Shouldn't take more than a couple of hours for the complete operation...including a beer break!! You haven't said what you are working on, but it's all remove and replace...no 'special tools' required. The Power Commander tuner is an unplug and replug operation...should come preloaded with the correct map for your application.

Thanks guys. I cant believe I left out my ride. 2010 Street Glide.
Looking at getting a Jackpot PowerTube muffler, PC-V and FM Stge 1 air cleaner because cost is sort of an issue.

I don't think you can go too far wrong with that setup. Jamie will fix you up with the correct map in the PC-5. Might want to look at changing out the header pipe to get rid of the cat at a future date also.

I have the Jackpot setup from Fuelmoto on mine. Very easy to do yourself and if you have questions Jamie is very helpful and gets back to you right away. Love the sound and the smoothness it gave my ultra... I also got the caps you can put in the ends of the jackpots. Give it a nice touch.

jamala00 - So other then the power upgrade, I am of course looking to get some better sounds. Does the Jackpot do the trick?

Jackpot's sound good! Deep rumble like a Harley is suppose to sound. If you are going to keep your head pipe, get the standard baffles. They are a little too loud with the open header, but the Cat in the stock header quietens them a little.

I couldn't be happier. I was looking for something not overwhelming. I happen to live right here next to FuelMoto. So I went right to the shop and listened to a set. I got the standard setup. You can get the performance baffle setup, which is a bit louder, or you can get the quiet baffle which Jamie says is more like stock. I get a lot of compliments on the sound of my bike and I get compliments on the billet end caps and how they add the extra touch. Go for it, I believe you will be very happy. I believe next year I am going to go back to him and have him to the CAM upgrade he does.
