Q for Those Who Have Ridden to Alaska
I'm planing a ride up and want to ride the Dalton Highway to the sign. There are plenty of places for general planning information. I'm looking for the best time to be that far north. I will plan the trip up around that timeframe.

Thanks. That's the sort of insight I'm seeking. I would have figured later. I don't like rain, especially cold rain! I was shocked at how cool it was when I rode down PC101 from WA to CA in late July. Temps were in the 40's along the coast. Not cold, but cooler than I expected. Early July it is.

I did the KW to Homer run this year, End June beginning july worked pretty well, only hit 3 days of rain and sleeet in BC, rode through it so no biggie. Did not do the Dalton, at least I dont think I did as it was a blur by time I got that far. Try getting the Milepost it will be a ride of your life.

On our annual 4 th of July ride to Fairbanks ( a three day ride) so one day lay over in the middle. On the 4 th by Paxson Alaska elavation 3500 ft ?? it rained and 42 degrees. Bring good raingear and see my recent post about electric clothing. Our roads are all weather roads and fairly rough by lower 48 standards. Canada needs a passport and NO handguns.Anything else ask away. You guys have help me a time or two so paybacks are due.
