I have one of those and he's ABSOLUTELY RIGHT!!

Mine came right out and a new one went right in while I was having a Mountain Dew and chatting with the cutie pie at the parts counter.

put the 2 screws back in the blocks for the cables and use 2 pairs of pliers to grip them and it will pull right out....no fuss...no muss.

Default Getting that Damn Battery out.

The guy who suggested turning the bike upside down, don't laugh but that thought did cross my mind.
I took a piece of leather and punched two holes in it.
remove the terminal bolts and then put the leather on each side of the terminals, screw bolts back in and viola. Pulled it right out. Getting the cover off is not easy either.

+1 Here.
Online, Advance lists 2 of them - seems like one was $8 and the other $15. Pads are slim and handles adjustable to fit different batteries. Single handle over the top makes it easy to carry the battery.
Several ways out there to get it out, but this tool is what they use at battery stores...

You are trying to remove the "old" battery right?
Clamp a set of vice grips on one of the posts and lift up and put you hand under it.
If you scar the post up, no big deal.

For future removal just wrap large zip ties around the new battery before you slide it in the hole works like a charm!!! Then you have a handle!!

Screw bolts into terminals leaving a little thread of the bolts showing after taking wires off. Then run a tie wrap between the two and use as your handle to lift battery out.
