Default Can't Remove Battery

Hi, this is going to sound stupid but I can't remove the battery from my 2008 street glide. The dealership put the battery in without the strap underneath the battery. My fingers are too big to get any kind of grip. Are there battery ropes or handles that will fit that size battery. I looked online but couldn't find anything.

Cant you bolt twine to each side of the battery like a handle and yank it up by the twine?

Make a pull tab out of duct tape and stick it on the top of your battery to extract it. When you replace your battery wrap a full turn turn of duct tape around the new battery and incorporate a pull tab on top for easy removal in the future. This is what I do instead of relying on the flimsy battery straps that always seem to rot and break.

carefully lift by the lugs, a 3rd hand will help to keep from tilting and getting jammed.

careful not to drop on the tank

my 09 came with a nylon strap under the battery to pull it...it was about worn through when I pulled the battery.
I put in a piece of 2" wide guitar strap with the new battery

mike

AutoZone sells a battery lifting tool. It can get the battery out. You have to be careful though. I'm going to get a nylon strap and put under mine. The factory lift strap is a joke.

I get mine out by using a large screwdriver on both sides to pry it up a bit until I can get my fingers on it. Nice to have a helper but not necessary.

I bolt on a small L bracket at each terminal that I have a rope tied to with a 3/4"pvc handle on it
